My New York City neighborhood of Sunnyside could use more good restaurants. Sushi bar Takesushi is the exception. Ensconced within what was formally a Transylvanian restaurant, to my surprise one of the sushi chefs here comes from Mexico, but speaks fluent Japanese. Watching his grace with the knife and fish, I was totally impressed. And the results were delicious as well as beautiful. Below are some things I tried.
